John Grisham calls himself an entertainer

Good article at CNN about John Grisham, who received 15 rejection slips before his book “A Time To Kill” was published.

Grisham’s books are not Joyce or Faulkner, for sure, but I see people reading his books with every evidence of enjoyment while I’m traveling back and forth to work.

He’s a well paid entertainer, because he made 9 million dollars last year.

I’m going to buy a cookbook

imagesbfc.jpgI love my cable television, especially the food channel.

My favorite cook is Ina Garten, aka The Barefoot Contessa.

The Contessa’s food and recipes are really yummy, but there’s another reason I like her show.

The Barefoot Contessa enjoys her food; like me, she’s a woman of substance.

Also, viewers see the Contessa serving her creations to friends and family members in her home (at least I think it’s her home).

Flowers are everywhere, and the sun always seems to be shining.

So, like any deranged fan worth his/her salt, I’m saving up to buy a signed Barefoot Contessa Cookbook.

Blogcritics Magazine, “a sinister cabal of serious writers,” has a book focus with lots of great book reviews.

“Wordy writers” is the book section’s February focus.

Read short blurbs about writers Ayn Rand, James Joyce, Victor Hugo, and James Michener.
