I also have several cookbooks and love to cook - see? more separation at birth. All in moderation my dear..broiled fish with salad one night 3 layer cake the next - snort. Actually the deal is make what you like and either give half away or freeze it. I make my carrot cake in 6 small bundletts and freeze half.
